Mission and Vision

The Lafayette Institute will provide state-of-the-art nanofabrication facilities for innovations in optoelectronics and advanced materials research.  Leveraging Georgia Tech’s expertise in technology transfer and commercialization through the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute, it is expected that the Lafayette Institute will serve as a catalyst for economic development in the Lorraine region of France.

  • To provide licensing, commercialization and technology transfer services to faculty and industry in technology areas related to new materials for photonics and electronics
  • To transfer technology to industry
  • To enhance the technology-driven education and training of the future workforce of this industry
  • To serve as a catalyst for international economic collaborations between Georgia and Lorraine, and the US and France
  • To serve Georgia in training technology-prepared global citizens and leaders
